As Christian we believe we are ready for marriage, but we are unprepared!
We believe that because we go to church that makes us ready for marriage but we have not fully understood what it means to be married or personally developed ourselves before marriage.
We go through premarital counseling and I believe that we should. However because we are focus on the day of the wedding, we tend to go through the motions of premarital counseling. How do I know? It was once my story and that marriage ended in divorce.
At Beacon of Light we want to help you prepare not for the wedding day but for the first five years of your marriage. We want to take a look at some key areas that can be overlooked during premarital counseling. We believe knowing your personality; understanding and knowing your past generations and assessing any patterns or cycles in your life; and emotional Intelligence just to name a few. Knowing these key areas can help you communicate more affectively and be aware of certain challenges that may arise and how to have victory over them.
This 8 week course is designed to help you develop yourself and work on the foundational structures of marriage.
